Additional Information: It is our policy to pursue preventative medicine for all patients. Our practice nurses offer “well person checks”, smoking cessation advice and also advice on disease prevention.
Patients with asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, thyroid or hypertension are advised to have at least an annual check-up. Have a “birthday” check-up then you will always remember the date to re-book.
Additional Health awareness educational sessions are organised at the Surgery, to which patients and carers are invited.
Patients are referred to Genitourinary Medicine Clinics, Cannock hospital.
Chlamydia self-testing is available for all 16-24 years old, please ask at reception for a pack.

This is a special clinic for our patients suffering from CHD. Patients are seen by the Practice Nurse. There is an annual review for patients with history of heart attack and/or Angina. The CHD clinic is by appointment and you will be invited to attend as necessary. Two weeks prior to being asked for review, you will be asked to come into the surgery for blood tests.

It is very important for all women over 25 years of age who are sexually active to have cervical smears. This is a test to detect changes in the cervix, which, may in years to come, lead to cancer. These change when detected by smears and treated can prevent cancer from developing. Chaperone, service if need be, is available at the practice. Please talk to the Practice Nurse if you have any Queries or worries about the smear test.
Additional Information: Appointments for smear tests should be made with the practice nurses. Please tell the receptionist why you want your appointment and do ensure that you are in the mid-cycle if you still have menstrual periods.

Additional Information: The baby clinics are run by Dr Shanti Parekh and a practice nurse for child development checks and immunisations and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries with the doctor. Please do not bring ill or infectious children to this clinic as it is a ‘well baby’ clinic. You will be sent a appointment when your child is due a 8 week check by the doctor for immunisation.
We offer Annual Review with one of our Practice Nurses and patients are invited to attend clinics by letter/phone/text/ messages on prescriptions, during their birthday month.
