How to Make an Appointment
Appointments can be made by your NHS App, Econsult, telephoning 01543 279232 or by calling in at the surgery.

Appointments can be booked in advance or for Urgent on the day appointments, booking is from 8am on the day.
We aim to see patients within 30 minutes of their appointment time or provide an explanation for the delay. Please note, there may be times when your appointment is slightly later than your scheduled time.
Routine appointments may be made eight weeks in advance which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible so as to rebook an appointment for another patient who may urgently need that day appointment. Patients who do not attend their appointment will recieve a text message informing them of this the following month. Patients who do not turn up for 3 or more appointments (DNA) and do not inform the practice will receive a letter from the practice which may result in removal from the practice.
Routine Appointments are 10 minutes long. If you need a longer appointment please let the receptionist know at the time of booking your appointment. If booking online then a longer appointment can be booked, by taking 2 appointment slots for yourself.
Appointment Timings
Appointments timings with GP’s are from 10.00am to 6.00pm and with Nurses are from 9.00am to 5.00pm (Monday to Friday).
One day in a month (Second Tuesday of every month) Surgery will be closed in an afternoon for training session of all staff.
Evening appointments are available until 6.00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, except for Monday when surgery is opened till 7.30pm for patients who find it difficult to attend in normal hours.

Choose and Book
Norton Canes Practice has Choose and Book system facility which gives the patients the freedom to choose the date and time, for their appointments, in the hospital of their choice, when their GP refers them to a hospital for specialist treatment.
Details of above are given at the reception after consultation by GP. Please make use of this service next time your GP refers you to the hospital.
Home Visits
Doctors will always encourage patients to come into the surgery because this is where best care can be provided. Specialist equipments is there, tests can be carried out more easily and medication issued if necessary.
- Home visits are for patients confined due to illness or disability or an urgent treatment can be given more quickly by visiting.
- Patients are requested to telephone before 11.00am if a visit is required that day.
- Emergency visits only will be arranged after the above time.
- Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls.
- Do remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit.
- For this reason if you need a home visit, the duty GP may call you back to find out more about your problems before deciding to come out.
Late For Your Appointment
Please attend your appointment on time, if you are late you may not be seen. If you are not seen you will not be able to rearrange your appointment until the next working day – except in the event of an medical emergency that requires immediate attention.
