How to Make an Appointment

Appointments can be made by telephoning 01543 279232 or by calling in at the surgery.

Morning appointments can be booked from 8.30am on the day, whilst afternoon appointments can be booked from 2.00pm on the day.

Online appointment booking access is also available.

We aim to see patients within 30 minutes of their appointment time or provide an explanation for the delay. Please let reception know if your problem is urgent.

Routine appointments may be made eight weeks in advance which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements.

If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible so as to rebook an appointment for another patient who may urgently need that day appointment. Patients who do not turn up for 3 or more appointments (DNA) and do not inform the practice will receive a correspondence from the practice.

Urgent enquiries can be dealt on the day. Please telephone the reception to be added on to the appointment list to see the duty doctor for the day.

Routine Appointments are 10 minutes long. If you need a longer appointment please let the receptionist know at the time of booking your appointment. If booking online then a longer appointment can be booked, by taking 2 appointment slots for yourself.

Choose and Book

Norton Canes Practice has Choose and Book system facility which gives the patients the freedom to choose the date and time, for their appointments, in the hospital of their choice, when their GP refers them to a hospital for specialist treatment.

The doctors mainly use the Choose and Book appointment, at their consultation, when the patient is still present.

Details of above are given at the reception after consultation by GP. Please make use of this service next time your GP refers you to the hospital.
